Antique Cast Iron Greek Boys/Cherubs/Fleur de lis Fireplace Fender

Downsizing to a new home without a fireplace so am selling my beloved cast iron Greek boys or cherubs Art Deco or Greek Revival fireplace fender decoration. Great piece depicting a pair of unclothed young boys together holding a majestic fleur de lis or olive branch with flowing braided hair and nice detail on their chubby – but muscular – little bodies. The figures themselves are 19.5″ tall x 20.5″ wide bolted on a 8″ x 23.5″ heavy plate that is .75″ in width. Plate has some rust on its underside. Total sculpture has a rich, brown-rust colored patina and measures 21″ tall x  23.5″ long. It weighs a whopping 65 lbs. on the bathroom scale. No maker’s mark or date, but my guess is that this piece is from the 1800s. Overall in amazing condition for its age; needs a good cleaning and oiling to make it shine. Very unique piece and it could be used in a variety of ways, as a true fireplace decoration, as a room or outdoor sculpture. As a door stop – for a heavy door! Priced at $245.
